Native Plant Species as a High-Value Crop

Wednesday, March 13, 2024 · 9–11 am

VSU Randolph Farm Pavilion, 4415 River Road, Petersburg, VA

Farmers and gardeners will learn about the potential to increase farm profits by growing native plant species. Tim Sexton, soil scientist with the Small Farm Outreach Program, and Issac Matlock, a native plant botanist, will explain what these plants are, how to grow and care for them, and how to market them. We will observe the different plant species, their uses, and how farmers can increase profits with minimal work and space.

Space is limited to 30 participants.

For more information, contact Tim Sexton at 804-524-1028 or tsexton@vsu.edu.
