Tour the Maker’s Market at Southern Virginia Food Hub, a new operation projected to open in May 2019 with a mission to create “successful agribusinesses in our community while preserving the heritage of our family farms and local cuisine.” The Maker’s Market is designed to showcase products from more than 100 small farmers and food artisans, especially in Brunswick, Charlotte, Dinwiddie, Greensville, Halifax, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, and Nottoway counties.
Presenter Ann Taylor Wright, who has helped lead the development of the Southern Virginia Food Hum and Maker’s Market, will discuss the products and services of the Marker’s Market including, a local food grocery, classroom for farmer and community classes, inspected kitchen for rent, inspected dairy processing room for rent, coffee shop, and ready-to-eat take home meals. She will also provide information about the benefits of creating value-added products to eliminate waste and increase profits.
