Atv and Farm Equipment Safety
Tuesday, May 20, 2025 • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
128 Cyrus McCormick Circle, Raphine, VA 24472
Before you begin your day, do you have a plan to inspect the equipment on a routine basis? ATV incidents are up 50% in the last several years with 2.6 people per day in an ADV incident in Southwest Virginia - more than gunshot incidents. The average hospital bill of an ATV incident is 127,000 with a stay of 1 1/2 days.
Farming and agriculture remain the deadliest occupation (23.5 fatalities per 100,000 full-time workers). Outdated equipment, high risk work, weather conditions, and part-time farming work habits are concerns that need to be reviewed.
