This workshop will explore the climatology and microclimatology of air flow across southwestern Virginia and how it interacts with the existing mountain landscape (orography) to generate special concerns for the placement (siting) of crops, orchards, high tunnels, and other structures.

The relationship between temperature, energy, pressure, and gradients will be highlighted in simple to understand ways to give you a better understanding of your landscape, an ability to better care for existing crops and structures, as well as more confidence to plan future projects.
