Improving Soil Health and Fertility with Cover Crops

Tuesday, April 28, 2026 • 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

5185 Poor Mountain Road Salem, VA, 24153

This field demonstration is being held for farmers and gardeners alike to learn about incorporating cover crops on their farm and gardens which in turn means healthy crops. Participants will learn how to begin the Spiral of Soil Health, creating healthy soil in order for plants to have better uptake of nutrients which is essential for the highest potential growth, ability to withstand or resist drought, and to retain topsoil by reducing erosion, as well as learn how it sustains agricultural practices and our ability to provide food for the future. Please join us to discover how six trial cover crops may affect your farm's soil health
