Melon and Pepper Production at Riverside Produce Farm

Luke Hallman, owner of Riverside Produce Farm, will lead the tour to show how he grows watermelon, cantaloupe, canary melons and a variety of heirloom peppers under plastic mulch with drip irrigation. Hallman will talk about how he established and maintains his own beehives to pollinate his gardens and discuss practices for integrated pest management. He will also share information about his experience with USDA FSA loans that are available for beginning farmers.
