Basic Soil Science for Farmers

Wednesday, June 4, 2025 • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

20720 4th Street, Ettrick, VA 23806

Learn how complex our soils in Virginia are, how they form, the minerals in the soil, the different layers of soil. Learn how organic matter influences plant growth and healthy soil.  You will learn how different size soil particles and soil structure play a critical role.  We will discuss how the Soil Survey can assist in making decisions, and about soil-water relationships and much more. Don't miss out on this opportunity to enhance management of soil and soil health.

Space is limited to 30 participants.
