Farm machinery is dangerous. One -third of farm work fatalities involve farm machinery , ATV's, tractors
and implements . Tractor overturns, roll overs ,power take offs (PTO) ,runovers ,and implement
entanglements are the most common causes of injury or death .Farm machinery should be operated by
individuals that have been trained. Follow these basic guidelines to reduce your risk when operating farm
equipment .
1. Wear your seat belt.
2. Know your terrain .
3. Disengage the power take off (PTO).
4. Inspect your equipment.
5. Drive down. Back up.
6. Keep loads low.
