Intermediate Beekeeping and Integrated Pest Management

Join us for an in-person educational event focused on managing two major threats to honey bees in North America: the Varroa mite and the small hive beetle.
Highlights Include:
• Lecture by Keith Tignor, Virginia State Apiarist (VDACS)
• Pest life cycles, identification, sampling, and IPM strategies
• Live hive demonstration at VSU’s beeyard
• Hands-on instruction in pest inspection and control
Attendees must bring their own protective gear (veil or bee jacket, gloves, and closed-toe shoes).
Light refreshments provided (coffee, donuts, and snacks).
