Tomatoes are at their freshest from May to October in most parts of Virginia and come in literally thousands of varieties, including different colors, sizes and shapes. Come celebrate National Tomato Month by tasting several different hybrid and heirloom tomato varieties such as ‘Paul Robeson’, ‘Sun Gold’, 'Roma', and many others. An enlightening discussion will take place about planting methods, indeterminate vs. determinate varieties, and adventitious vs. vegetative growth. Please bring your own foldable chair, cold water will be available. Philadelphia Tomato Pie will be served.

This event will be held at a private home near Sentara Obici Hospital (Route 10/32 & US-58); address will be sent to registrants no earlier than 72 hours prior start time.
