Mushrooms are a small yet mighty culinary ingredient with many health benefits, from cancer prevention to enhancing brain health.

Jason Hess, owner/operator of The Tidewater Mushroom Company LLC, will introduce participants to common gourmet mushroom varieties and their uses. Participants will learn about the mushroom life cycle, nutrition facts, superfood statistics, and day-to-day operation of this unique indoor urban mushroom farm.

Each participant will receive an inoculated grow bag to take home, following a tour of the farm to include Q&A and an explanation of the lab, equipment, and growing mediums.
