Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services

250 Cassell Road Wytheville, Virginia, 24382

Ever wonder where samples go after your veterinarian collects them from your animal? You are

invited to see what is involved in testing diagnostic samples that you or your veterinarian send

to the lab. Get a behind-the-scenes look at what happens between the time samples are taken

and when you get the results. Producers will gain knowledge of services offered by the Virginia

Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, as well as a brief overview of diseases

affecting sheep and goats. Learn what samples are required for diagnostic testing. The meeting

will conclude with a tour of the Wytheville VDACS laboratory, which is one of only thirty-five Level 1

National Animal Laboratory Health Network-Certified laboratories across the US.
