Biochar is a carbon rich organic material that improves moisture retention and increases soil carbon sequestration made from woody material using a high-temperature low- oxygen process. Dr. Tiffany Carter will be sharing VSU’s Randolph farm biochar program updates as well as science-based training on developing a plan, making biochar and incorporating biochar into your home garden and farm nutrient management plan.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear proper footwear, time permitting we will take an in depth tour of the biochar facility at VSU Randolph Farm.
