recognizing and responding to farmer financial stress
Monday, November 9, 2026 • 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Virtual Microsoft Teams Meeting
This workshop will help with recognizing and responding to financial stress. Financial stress is a common challenge for farmers due to factors such as unpredictable weather, fluctuating market prices, rising production costs, and debt obligations. Understanding the signs of financial stress early is critical to maintaining both farm profitability and personal well-being.
Some of the best ways to manage financial stress include creating a realistic budget, monitoring cash flow regularly, seeking financial counseling, exploring risk management tools such as crop insurance, diversifying income sources, and communicating proactively with lenders and trusted advisors. Farmers should also prioritize their mental health and reach out for support when needed. Taking small, practical steps today can help reduce stress and strengthen financial resilience for the future.
