Alternative Ways to Improve Soil Health

Tammy Holler, Nutrient Management specialist and VSU Small Farm Outreach Agent, will present information on techniques farmers can use to improve soil health and increase crop productivity.

Topics include: 

  • using cover crops, compost and manures as alternative ways to improve soil health;

  • selecting the best cover crops;

  • timing for cover crop planting; and

  • new management practices for a synergistic approach to planting that will improve crop production and soil health.
