Cage Production Workshop: Building Fish Cages for Ponds
May 9, 2019
1:30PM - 5PM
VSU Randolph Farm
4415 River Road • Petersburg, VA
Participants will learn the basics of cage aquaculture and construct a fish cage. Raising fish in cages can utilize a water resource that is not suitable for other aquaculture production techniques. Farm ponds are a good example where cage aquaculture is quite suited as a production means.
Presented by David Crosby, Brian Nerrie, Louis Landesman
THIS EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOP IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. SPACE IS LIMITED TO 20 PARTICIPANTS.
Cage-building materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring leather gloves, tin snips, a tape measure, cutting pliers and protective goggles.
